Pairing: Implied Yamashita Tomohisa x Horikita Maki. Also some platonic KeiPi.
Summary: And he told it straight to her face. Expressionlessly but with honesty in every word he uttered. Two short drabbles on their sudden realization.
Author's Note: I’ve always wanted to write a fic on this two. But, unluckily, I think I’ve messed up and forgot what I really wanted to write. Btw, does anyone have links for Kurosagi The Movie? <3<3<3
Horikita Maki is not a girly-girl type. Feminine, yes. Girly, no. She’s certainly not the one who’ll shout ‘kyaa-kyaa~~’ to some boy bands. She sees them from a different light; not like any hormone-struck lovesick girl. They’re fake; way different from what they portray themselves on TV shows and dramas.
Upon receiving the script for ‘Nobuta wo Produce’ and knowing who’ll be her co, she only shrugged. While her friends at school were fussing about how lucky she was to act with guys from Johnny’s Jimusho. When the production begun, she prejudiced him right on his face.
But later, she realized he is different.
He once honestly admitted that he disliked his group on a show. He once honestly admitted that he used to distance himself from his other members. And he told it straight to her face. Expressionlessly but with honesty in every word he uttered.
She somewhat admire him. And honestly, she thought, he’s cool.
And when she received the script for ‘Kurosagi’, she just can’t help to squeak a little.
2. what’s in a name?
He admitted that he’s not one who'll open doors to others so easily. Even for his group members, he took almost 3 years to open up himself to the other five remaining. They said that they need him as leader, as friend, as comrade. Not some colleague.
Then, he remembered, how Kei-chan responded to Shige’s April Fool prank; sending him a text message saying that ‘Yamapi going to leave the group after this single.’ Unexpectedly, Kei-chan actually fell for that; and sent: ‘Without Yamapi, we are nothing.’ Of course, the other members laughed mercilessly at Kei-chan, but he was so touched that he almost wanted to cry. Almost.
But, somehow out of the world; he called this certain girl in front of him with her first name and ‘-chan’ honorific. At first, he thought of it as something connected to brotherly-love thing. But seeing her, busily managing her acting career and now checking some universities list on the table while taking a coffee break, she’s not his little sister anymore.
He bent towards her and placed his hand on her chair.
‘Maki-chan, which university you want to go?’
She hesitated for a moment, but she replied his question anyway.
‘Anywhere but yours. I don’t want Tomohisa-kun’s fangirls spill any water at me.’
Tomo-what? Tomohisa?! Since when she called him like that? No matter how many times, he referred her as Maki-chan; she would always call him Yamashita-kun. Then, he realized he had just stared at her wide-eyed. She still maintained that annoying bratty expression; focusing on her papers instead of him.
He smiled sheepishly while scratching his head.
‘Hmmm, I guess so. Maki-chan probably is not water-resistant, ne?’
